We’ll discuss expected timeframes to notice changes, and what these changes will be, as well as discussing what alterations you can make in your diet and lifestyle to speed things along. We’ll talk about treatment options such as whether acupuncture, herbal medicine, or both are more suited to your condition, and work with what you’re comfortable exploring.

If we’re doing bodywork, we’ll then begin treatment. This may include Gua Sha, cupping therapy or acupuncture (which you can read more about here), or a combination of the three. For those that are needle-phobic (or very young), we also have the option of acupressure, or laser acupuncture.

If we’re doing herbs, we’ll discuss what herbs you’ll be taking and why. We’ll also discuss the different ways to take them (decoction, powder, or pills) and which will be best suited to you (read more on this here).

Treatment plans vary from person to person, but Chinese Medicine isn’t a magic bullet that only requires one treatment. How often and how long I see you for depends on a multitude of things including how long you’ve had the condition, the type of condition (chronic/acute), your individual response, your ability to change some habits that may be contributing, and the possibility of re-injury or emotional stress and work. Making sure our expectations align is a key part of treatment and making sure you can get the most out of our relationship.
